The California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks recently appointed Roya Alt as Executive Director.

Alt has been director of the museum since March 2020.

Under Alt’s leadership, the museum expanded its arts education programming and increased its membership by 15%.

Alt has over 20 years of experience in outreach, marketing, and project management for the nonprofit, entertainment, and technology sectors.

She is the former Senior Director of Public Relations at the City of Hope Cancer Center and was previously Group Account Director at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide.

Since reopening after more than a year of closure due to the pandemic, the museum has presented four exhibitions and offered free arts education programs to more than 1,250 children and families throughout the Conejo Valley and southern California.

The museum’s current exhibit, Gifted: Collecting the Art of California at Gardena High School, is on view through Jan. 9.
