CLINTON – The Hunterdon Art Museum is calling for members’ artwork to win a future solo exhibition.
This annual exhibition showcases the diverse talents of members of the Hunterdon Art Museum. Artists work in an array of media including photography, sculpture, fiber, glass, printmaking, oils, acrylic, watercolour, pastel, pencil and collage.
The juror for this event will be Lewis Wexler, owner of the Wexler Gallery in Philadelphia.
Wexler began his career in the arts in the late 1980s as assistant vice president of 20th century decorative arts at Christie’s auction house in New York. After his work at Christie’s, Lewis worked with world-renowned French art deco dealer Anthony Delorenzo at his Madison Avenue gallery. He has lectured extensively across the United States at institutions such as the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery, the Furniture Society Conference, UBS’ Annual Global Media & Communications Conference, and SOFA Chicago (Sculptural Objects Functional Art fair). He has been featured in various national publications and appeared on the cover of Art & Antiques magazine in October 2005. Committed to promoting finely crafted works that push the perception of art, craft and design, Lewis has also served on the jury to select works for major exhibitions across the United States.
All current members of the Hunterdon Art Museum are invited to submit up to five images of work made within the last five years and not previously exhibited at the museum.
